I do not enjoy animae. I am happy that Mondo is hosting infrequent secret screenings, but I was less-than-thrilled that the first was Akira. I actually thought to myself, "no, I'm gonna put aside my distaste for this genre and enjoy Akira," but the film did everything in its power to reassert why I can't stand animae.
