Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny (1972)

1st View
Format: DVD
Venue: Castle Greyskull

I don't...it's just that...if you really think about it...ok, I got nothing. I'm not sure if this qualifies as a film, but I can say without fear of contradiction that I did in fact watch it. Capping off Junkfood Cinema's A Very Junkfood Christmas, it's Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny...?

Elves (1989)

1st View
Format: VHS
Venue: Alamo Ritz (Video Hate Squad)

One of the most inexplicable horror films I have ever seen. This was my first time attending at the Alamo Drafthouse's Video Hate Squad series. I will definitely be returning. This movie so boggled my already very boggleable mind so I decided to write it up for Junkfood Cinema's A Very Junkfood Christmas.

Home Alone 2 (1992)

Revisit
Format: Blu--ray
Venue: Rivendell

Not as good as the first, I recognize that, but still a lot of fun and I have plenty of childhood nostalgia for the first two films in this franchise. The sequel, as with the first, contributed to creating A Very Junkfood Christmas for Film School Rejects.

Home Alone (1990)

Format: Blu-ray

A holiday tradition around the Mullensbury household. Love it! It actually had the honor of kicking off Junkfood Cinema's A Very Junkfood Christmas.

Never Too Young To Die (1986)

Revisit
Format: VHS
Venue: Rivendell

A personal favorite train wreck starring John Stamos as a teenage secret agent battling a transsexual terrorist played by former KISS frontman Gene Simmons. If that synopsis alone doesn't make you want to see this film, take a gander at the Junkfood Cinema article it earned with its absurdity.

Not sure how I forgot to log this one. I watched it in early October to prepare for Junkfood Horror. Read the article here!

The Pit (1981)

Format: DVD
Venue: Rivendell

One of the more bizarre 80s horror films I have ever seen. This weird little gem left such an impact on me that I decided to cover it for Junkfood Cinema. Read it if you dare.

Killer Party (1986)

Format: Warner Archive DVD

Incredibly silly, but some legitimate quality peeks through the mire of goofballitude. Overall, passably entertaining despite itself. Ended up making the Junkfood Cinema grade for this month's Junkfood Horror. Read if you dare!

Black Roses (1988)

Format: VHS

Love the hell out of this movie. Heavy metal horror is quickly becoming one of my favorite subgenres. It made such an impact on me that it was canonized in this week's Junkfood Cinema. Thrash and headbang your way through it.

Ernest Goes to Camp (1987)

Revisit
Format: Blu-ray
Venue: Rivendell

Paul Gandersman and I made a late night double feature out the Ernest Goes to Camp/Jail Blu-ray. It was kind of awesome. I hadn't seen these films in years; they're pretty...special. This one managed to find itself canonized in the annals of Junkfood Cinema.

Shark Night 3D (2011)

1st View
Format: XD Digital
Venue: Tinseltown (Midnight Screening)

I'm not sure how I forgot to add this one along the way. Should have been an atrocious waste of my time, turned out to be the most fun I have in theaters since the first time I saw Attack the Block. Its greatness warranted the creation of a whole new category for Junkfood Cinema: Junkfood Multiplex.

The Mummy (1999)

Revisit
Format: HD-DVD
Venue: Rivendell

As fluffy as adventures films get, but that does little to detract from the experience. My boy Luke covered this tightly-wrapped schlock tart for this week's Junkfood Cinema. Read it from Film School Rejects...not the Book of the Dead.

Captain America (1990)

Revisit
Format: "DVD"
Venue: Rivendell

Watching the original crappy version of this film after seeing Pyun's abysmal director's cut was like a giant cinematic hug. Sure, it's still awful, but it looks like a auteur piece of genius by comparison. The enjoyable badness of this film, coupled with the impending release of Marvel's blockbuster reboot of the Cap'n, made it the perfect subject for this week's Junkfood Cinema. Don't shield your eyes.

Another of my beloved bad movies. Covered this cinematic cheeseburger for Junkfood Cinema long ago and far away; one from the archives.

Tales from the Crypt Presents Demon Knight (1995)

Format: DVD

How I had never seen this is beyond me; an 80s film made in the wrong decade. Demon Knight was the subject of this week's Junkfood Cinema. Click to read, hope it's not a...dead link! Cackle.

The Stepfather II: Make Room for Daddy (1989)

1st View
Format: VHS
Venue: Rivendell

Given how much I love the first one, I had been wanting to dig into the sequels for a long time. Thanks to the limitless VHS selection at I Luv Video, getting my hands on the second installment was no difficult task. I found it to be strikingly decent, not quite as good as the first but not the complete free-fall in quality I had expected. The film was the subject of a very special Sunday Father's Day edition of Junkfood Cinema. Take a stab at it!

Cobra (1986)

Revisit
Format: Netflix WI

I heart this movie so much I should probably be locked away. Wish I owned the Blu-ray, but the Netflix HD stream looked damn fine. Here's a bunch of words I wrote on the subject, Junkfood Cinema strikes again!

Anaconda (1997)

Revisit
Format: DVD
Venue: Rivendell

Of the films revolving around giant snakes eating people that happens to star two singers, a Wilson brother, and Angelina Jolie's dad, Anaconda has got to be in my top 10 favorites. It is blisteringly bad and therefore ripe for Junkfood Cinema. I dare you to read it!
